After an album and a half, the shock’s pretty much over … and Plastic Surgery Disasters is more of the nutty same from the Dead Kennedys. That goes without mentioning … if you liked Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables, then you’re going to like this, too!

…Unfortunately, I can’t think of much else to say about this … I am a bit disappointed that they didn’t, I don’t know, expand their HORIZONS in a significant way or something. I mean, that one song from In God We Trust, Inc., “We’ve Got a Bigger Problem Now” had a little bit o that … there’s really nothing like that in here. The weird noise at the beginning of this album, “Advice From Christmas Past” is a bit different … but it’s not exactly entertaining … you know.

And … the Dead Kennedys shall keep marching on … until 1987 … the year Tipper won. And Tedward still lives. Darrrrf!!!

Overall Album Score: 8.6 out of 10 (John and Robert have more nutty things for us ... yaaaaay.)

Average Song Score: 8.8 (This stuff is nuts. What else can I say? If you think you’d like overly offensive punk nuts stuff, then invest in these nutters.)

Um... does this count as a song? It’s just a bunch of fuzzy noise and stuff and them some chick talking over it. Yup. That’s it.

Government Flu 9/10

Noisy and rambunctious, the Dead Kennedys are back to their old form.............. Very brief, very crazy and ... just try not to listen to this band if you’ve recently suffered a headache.

Terminal Preppie 8.5/10

And ... just more insanity. The weird and brief horn bits in this make it distinguishable.

Trust Your Mechanic 8/10

The first part of this sounds like a military song on speed. Quick, marching drum beats ... more insanity. Two sections of this features a quiet parts that’s ... um ... artistic?

Well Paid Scientist 9.5/10

It’s not more energetic than the previous tracks ... I guess the proper term to use would be ...properly energetic... The song seems to have more ... um ... brilliance under its insanity? ... And I really like the thundering drums!!

Buzzbomb 9.5/10

Likewise to ...Well Paid Scientist... .... this just seems like a better song! ... (It's really hard to tell exactly *what* makes a Dead Kennedys song good because they are all fundamentally alike!) The unrestrained energy has an effect and the fast-paced, blistering instrumentals are suuuuuuuuperrrrrr.

Forest Fire 8.5/10

Seems sloppier this time. I cannot scientifically prove this, but ... just a gut feeling, you know! ... I do know that I don’t enjoy this as much as "Well Paid Scientist" and "Buzzbomb" even though this *does* have an interesting segment involving a high-pitched electric guitar.

Halloween 9/10

One of the longest songs in the album (at 3.5 minutes) and ... um ... it’s pretty good. *Gulp* ... It’s about Halloween and stuff. ... Yeah ... They seem a bit more restrained here as far as all-out insanity goes. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing! ... Nice song, though.

Great song title! Great song, too! The insanity is rampant here and ... this is a very fun song! YeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeHAH!

Six minutes long!!!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! ... And ... it’s pretty wacky. It’s both long **AND** wacky. Dudessssssssss! ... It’s really not much better than their short songs, though. It’s enjoyable because it’s insane ... but it’s not *as* enjoyable, see.

This one also seems *slightly* restrained. Restrained or unrestrained, I wouldn’t call this a great song. ... Although, I like the riff! ... This song goes on for a bit too long (five minutes?????)

I’m not too excited about this one for some reason. It’s better structured, it seems, but ... it’s just kinda boring for me. And when I start saying that a Dead Kennedys song is boring .........................

And that's your review. It kinda sucks. My advice to you is to chill, lay off whatever you're on, and relisten to your latest batch of (awfully) reviewed albums.
Kudos for picking up 'The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn.' It's one of the best ever.
